MEHNDI OR HENNA: TEMPORARY BEAUTIFUL NATURAL TATOO FOR HANDS AND FEET

Mehndi has been a long-standing tradition stemming from many ancient cultures dating back as far as about 5,000 years, but is most known today for its history in India. Today, henna tattoos are still used in religious and wedding ceremonies in India, but has also gained appreciation in other countries as a beautiful art to be appreciated at any time.
Mehndi came into use because of its cooling therapeutic effect in a hot climate, and, in India, it was also a way for a bride and groom to get to know one another before an arranged marriage.  A variety of Henna
color has been known to take best to the hands and feet due to their dry properties which soak up and hold the color better, but henna can be applied anywhere. How well your skin takes to the henna will depend on each individual's skin properties.

The traditions underlie the use of mehndi, including wedding games and legends.  For example, the groom's name is usually written somewhere within the bride's mehndi; if he cannot find his name within the intricate design, the bride is said to have the control in the marriage.  Also, a dark mehndi design for both bride and groom signifies that the two will have a strong relationship.
Within the past few years, mehndi has become popularized in the West by musicians and Hollywood personalities alike, and is now a quickly rising trend among women and men in world culture.
Henna gives different color on different skins. On palms, the color is darkest, near to black sometimes. On the other side of hand, the color is much lighter and then on arm it gets lighter. The color comes best after one or two days. You will notice the difference of the color every day, first it goes darker, then after few days, it goes lighter and finally its gone!
Now-a-days there are variety of mehndi cones available which gives dark color instantly because of the chemicals in it. Glitter body mehndi is also a trendsetter, which is usually wear by brides on their wedding day.
Today, henna has been done in many forms including more contemporary designs. Some contemplating a permanent tattoo might apply henna first to see if they like the look before making a permanent decision. Some just enjoy having a temporary design they know will wash off in a few weeks. Whatever your reasons might be for being interested in henna, you are delving into a beautiful form of art rich in culture.
